Following the start to its scheduled operations in September 2009, Cargoitalia says it is adding two new destinations to its network.
From January 16, the airline says it will commence a bi-weekly service to Dubai. This new stop on Cargoitalia’s Wednesday and Saturday service to Hong Kong replaces the outbound technical stop in Almaty, which is retained on inbound flights.
The Dubai service will carry cargo from Milan, and will also provide a through connection for traffic from Cargoitalia’s North American stations.
From January 21, Cargoitalia will add Chicago to its Thursday transAtlantic service, now operating Milan – New York – Chicago – Milan; Chicago replaces the original Toronto stop. The Sunday transAtlantic service will continue to operate Milan – New York – Toronto – Milan.
“These new destinations are designed to create more revenue opportunities from our existing operations, and to test demand,” says Commercial Director Roberto Gilardoni. “Subject to support for the revised services, and because our operations have now bedded in so well, we are considering stepping up transAtlantic operations with the addition of a Sunday service routing Milan – New York-Chicago – Milan, plus a third weekly departure to Hong Kong.”
Cargoitalia has meanwhile provisionally scheduled its third MD11F aircraft for June; this is likely to be deployed on services to and from Shanghai.
