DP World has taken delivery of 15 new cranes at its Jeddah facility, located within the South Container Terminal (SCT) at Jeddah Islamic Port.
The commissioning of the new equipment has started and will be completed within a month, when all machinery will be fully operational. The investment aims to increase productivity and assure the highest operating standards at DP World Jeddah.
Manufactured by Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machinery Company (ZPMC) of China, the mega-lifters include three Super-Super Post Panamax (SSPP) cranes and 12 Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG) cranes.
“The new acquisitions mark an important milestone for DP World Jeddah and fulfil our earlier commitment to deliver state-of-the art yard equipment to enhance the terminals efficiency and productivity,” says Captain Faisal Al Qahtani, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, DP World Middle East Region.
