Oman Air adds the newest Boeing to its fleet

Oman Air has added the new B737-800 NG to its fleet increasing the airline’s total number of Boeing 737′s to 11. The aircraft, named ‘Ras Al Had’, arrived at Muscat International Airport following its flight from Seattle.

Peter Hill, Oman Air CEO, says this latest addition upholds the airline’s network expansion plans on short and medium-haul flights within the Middle East and South Asia.

“We intend to link Muscat through direct flights to the major regional cities and also offer convenient connections to an increasing number of long-haul destinations,” Hill added.

Oman Air operates 11 Boeing 737 NG aircraft on short and medium-haul regional routes, two Airbus A310-300 aircraft to London and Bangkok and two ATR 42-500 aircraft on domestic and oilfield support operations.

The carrier has additional Boeing 737s, seven Airbus A330-200/300s and six Boeing 787s on order.
